National Workplace Policy on HIV/AIDS

The HIV/AIDS pandemic has adversely affected the most
reproductive and productive segment of the Population, the 15–49 years age
group. The survival of this age group, which constitutes the nation’s work
force, is critical to the socio-economic development of our country, Nigeria.
Recognizing that the worker is the most important factor in production,
the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity in collaboration with our
social partners, development partners, Non-Governmental Organizations and
People Living with HIV/AIDS, developed and produced a Policy that will
guide the prevention of HIV/AIDS, the response to its spread and the
management of its impact in the workplace.
