Conversations HIV and the Family

Families are touched by HIV/AIDS in many ways. These stories show how South African families deal with HIV. Through these stories we learn how HIV threads its way through their lives, how family members support each other, and how families grow together in response. This project builds on an exhibition and book of photographs and
stories of individuals living with HIV entitled “Living Openly” that was
released in 2000. The present “Conversations” project, which was
carried out during 2004 and 2005, gives new insights into the contexts
of living with HIV.
