High Impact Rapid Delivery (HIRD) Supplementary Survey, 2007 (District MICS): Monitoring the Situation of Children and Women Central Region
The HIRD Supplementary Survey was developed within the framework of the MICS, and employed the
same methodologies with minor modifications made to the 2006 MICS questionnaire. It was implemented
by UNICEF with technical assistance from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ghana Statistical Service
(GSS).
The survey findings present a wealth of data for monitoring the situation of women and children, in general,
and in the particular context of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), for these target regions.
They would also enhance the effectiveness of implementation of programmes, such as the Integrated
Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) and the United States Government President's Emergency Plan
for AIDS Relief and malaria, among others.
