High Impact Rapid Delivery (HIRD) Supplementary Survey, 2007 (District MICS): Monitoring the Situation of Children and Women Upper East Region

A number of new interventions have been implemented by the Government in the recent past, which will
have an impact on indicators and are expected to change over a short period of time. The Ministry of Health
has put a strong emphasis on scaling-up of the High Impact Rapid Delivery approach (HIRD) to achieving
MDGs 4 and 5 which was adopted for national implementation after the successful evaluation and documentation
of the lessons learnt from the Upper East pilot.
