Abortion within Reproductive Health in Ghana

Abortion is a topical issue, which confronts many health workers, including
doctors, nurses and also politicians, administrators and the general public. Not
every physician involved with women’s health care may choose to perform
abortion but she/he should be fully aware of how to evaluate a patient with an
unwanted pregnancy, how to assist her in the decision-making process and if she
chooses not to continue her pregnancy, how to provide her with the appropriate
care preoperatively and postoperatively to prevent unnecessary mortality.
