Monitoring and Investigating Political Killings
Killings constitute a human rights violation when they are murders directly committed by the authorities or condoned by the state authorities.1 Killings that constitute human rights violations are those prohibited by international human rights law. They are sometimes called “extralegal, summary and arbitrary executions” or “extrajudicial execution” or “unlawful killings.”
