The purpose of the GWA Anglophone West Africa Regional Network is to implement the activities of the GWA Secretariat in the region and promote strategic improvements in the practice of gender mainstreaming through a network of individuals and organisations committed to and active in mainstreaming gender in their own work and that of their partners. the Strategic Plan will strengthen significantly the gender-related understanding the practice of water-sector professionals and decision-makers at national and local levels in Anglophone West Africa countries. This is designed to contribute to the goal, which is to achieve effective policies and practice on gender mainstreaming in integrated water resources management, with the ultimate aim to improve water situation of poor women and men.
