To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of her historic breakthrough to post-colonial independence for a Black African country, Ghana chose the Theme: Celebrating African Excellence.
Today, getting on for half-a-century of independent political existence for almost fifty sub-Saharan African countries, not one of them, not Ghana herself, has been able to break out of the bottom Third-World rung of economic attainment, and to propel its people up to an internationally recognized Middle-Income level of economic productivity and social welfare.
